Position Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic will perform daily and periodic aircraft maintenance, fueling, inspections, and documentation for Cessna 208 Caravan, Cessna 337/02A Skymaster, Cessna T206H StationAir, Beech King Air B100, and other various aircraft(s). Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned. The mechanic is proficient in the use of the current maintenance management systems utilized to maintain, aircraft forms and records, and computes basic weight and balance records. Participates in maintenance test flights and operation checks if required. Aircraft mechanic will provide aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies. The candidate will assist in maintaining facilities, equipment, and vehicles of the Maintenance Operations Facility in Sanford, NC. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Performs routine duties of aviation maintenance using materials, tools, and supplies required; lifting and holding materials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment; cleans aircraft, interior, and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions; inflates tires; fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs; and greases aircraft, using grease gun; and may assist flight crews in servicing and preparing aircraft prior to flight. Assists in towing and jacking aircraft, disconnecting instruments, ignition systems, fuel, and oil lines.  
  • Assists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling, or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections.  
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed.  
  • Assembles disassembles and/or modifies aircraft components by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle sub-components, consumables, and expendables to correct failures or implement upgrades or modifications.  
  • Read and interpret manufacturer's maintenance manuals and technical data.  
  • Perform required maintenance activities.  
  • Maintain accountability and serviceability of test sets, special tools, and support equipment.  
  • Percentage of Travel Required: 0%-30%, if applicable in duties  

 

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Two (2) years' experience with documented training on the type of aircraft specific to the contract. 
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct routine aviation maintenance.
  • Physical requirements for the job include: - Ability to lift 50lbs, additionally, stand for the entire duty day. 
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, and kneel.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet requirements to independently obtain rental vehicles at all assigned travel locations. 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior military experience on the type of aircraft specific to the contract.  
  • Ability to learn quickly while maintaining a keen eye for details and staying organized.
