Software and Cyber Engineer

MAG Aerospace is seeking an entry to mid-level Software and Cyber Engineer to develop software for secure systems that meet rigorous cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate should also be self-discipline with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This is an on-site position located that the Tobyanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA.

 

*This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance. Applicants that are eligible for a clearance will be considered.*

• Apply knowledge and principles of software engineering and programming to improve security posture of systems
• Assist with the design, build and integration of secure software solutions, including tools like intrusion detection systems and firewalls
• Evaluating and testing software and systems for security weaknesses through methods like penetration testing and risk assessments
• Implementing security measures, policies, and procedures, such as firewalls, encryption, and access controls, to protect data and networks
• Continuously monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and threats
• Managing the installation and integration of security patches, updates, and enhancements, and keeping security software updated
• Working with multiple teams to integrate security into the entire software lifecycle
• Assist in writing requirements specifications, design, and test documents

Knowledge and Skills 

• Engineering experience working with virtual machines, networking hardware and software
• Familiarity with database programs
• Familiarity with firewalls
• Familiarity with scanning tools such as ACAS
• Familiarity with Virus Scan tools such as ENS
• Experience with Software Lifecycle tools such as JIRA
• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills - Creativity and innovative thought process
• Must have proven programming experience (front-end or back-end development)
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, agile development team environment
• Experience using Microsoft and Linux Operating systems
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, agile development team environment

Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in I.T., Cybersecurity, or similar technical discipline

Desired Qualification

• Experience working with military, federal civilian or DoD personnel, including geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60000 to $75000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
