Position Summary

MAG is hiring for a Fifth Generation Fighter (e.g. F-35, F-22) Functional Area Manager, Senior with current TOP SECRET clearance with SCI/SAP/SAR eligibility to provide knowledge-based services in support of A3T and Acquisition Management and Integration Center (AMIC) activities under Headquarters Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Operations (A3), Flight Operations Division (A3T) at Langley Air Force Base, VA, that is responsible for the combat readiness and training of the Combat Air Forces (CAF).

 

This position will support the providing of operational expertise required to meet current and future needs of the CAF and develops, coordinates, and drafts command guidance for all aspects of CAF fighter aircrew training. This position also provides technical and subject matter expertise to develop and oversee policy for ACC flight operations, aircrew flying training, Distributed Mission Operations, and formal training programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

 

  • Support Major Command (MAJCOM) staff level functions to include incorporating Combatant Command (COCOM) requirements into training programs and updating required documents, F-35A / F-22 total force integration issues, unit manning requirements analysis, and advise and coordinate on training and readiness taskings
  • Support F-35A Partner Nations and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) operations and training
  • This includes foreign tactics manual development, assisting SAF/IA with foreign disclosure activities, and supporting foreign CONUS operations and training activities
  • Support development and coordination of Live Virtual Constructive training requirements; weapons and tactics planning
  • Support the development and documentation of 5th Generation Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and assist in developing and fielding 5th Generation fighter training range requirements
  • Assist with CAF syllabi development and coordinate exercise participation to maximize training opportunities for the entire F-35A / F-22 enterprise
  • Support F-35A / F-22 Site Survey and Programing Plan Site Activation and serve as CAF operations focal point for assessing, recommending, and facilitating permanent new mission basing/ bed-down proposals
  • Support development of the USAF F-35A Life Cycle Bed-down Plan and assist in the development of F-35A operational basing and bed-down requirements to include Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) system requirements and integration
  • Support development of F-35A Flight Series Data (FSD) and F-35A Training Management System (TMS)
  • Support F-35A / F-22 and 5th Generation Working Groups developmental and operational testing activities and safety efforts
  • Support planning, programming, and budgeting actions and support requirements generation development and coordination via the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process to enable CAF operational readiness

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • 2 years of recent F-35A or F-22 flight experience, including 5th Generation Operational Tactics experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the F-35 / F-22 JPO Program and organization

    Experience:

    A minimum of 10 years of fighter rated aviation experience (USAF experience desired

Education

  • The minimum level of education required is: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

 

Desired Requirements

  • 2 years of HQ staff experience at the MAJCOM level or higher
  • USAF Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) graduate or instructor (or US Navy Topgun), OR 2 years of developmental or operational test experience
  • Strong problem identification/resolution skills, flexibility, initiative, and a proven ability to work with Senior Executives efficiently and effectively

 

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen 
  • An active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI/SAP/SAR eligibility

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $130000 to $160000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
