Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a contract to provide flight training support services for the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASAOC) We are seeking highly qualified Aerial Delivery Specialist to support USASOAC’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR) and the Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SME for aerial delivery and serves as an Aerial Delivery Specialist for the 160th SOAR, which includes reviewing, coordinating and monitoring aerial delivery actions.
  • Develop policies and procedures, and makes technical decisions relating to aerial delivery programs, including parachutist oxygen systems, Military Free Fall (MFF), air delivery operations and associated support requirements.
  • Serve as the 160th SOAR’s Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) representative and reviews and evaluates all ILS documents relating to these requirements and supported systems.
  • Develop and coordinate air operations, procedures, war reserves, Basis of Issue Plans (BOIPs) and authorizations.
  • Work with other agencies, laboratories and schools involved in RDT&E, and serve as a senior technical advisor on boards to develop new parachutes, aerial delivery systems and parachutist oxygen life support systems, and provide expertise on construction, design, test and safety. All final decisions shall be made by the Government.
  • Conduct staff visits to higher, lateral, subordinate and other agency commands as a representative of 160th SOAR.
  • Monitor and inspect unit parachute packing facilities, MFF oxygen support, and procedures to ensure compliance with 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) and Army Regulations (ARs), Training Circulars (TCs), and Training Manuals (TMs).
  • Provide Army Command (ACOM) technical advice and assistance on rigging and inspection of parachutes, parachute apparatus, special safety requirements, and any parachute operations executed designated and specified staff support areas.
  • Provide technical advice to other staff sections and units.
  • Conduct on-site reviews of program/system implementation and provides advice, assistance and guidance on existing issues and future developments and requirements. 
  • Serve as the focal point for the 160th SOAR on senior service and joint boards, councils, groups or committees pertaining to assigned areas of responsibility and participates in meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare, and present integrated product review (IPR) briefings as required.
  • Prepare, coordinate, staff and manage command level correspondence throughout its life cycle.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Airdrop operations
  • Must possess a Certificate of Completion for the DoD Parachute Rigger (Basic) Course, DoD Airdrop
    Systems Technician (Basic) Course, DoD Basic Static-Line Parachutist Course, and FAA Senior rigger
    course.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Special Operations Aviation.

The projected compensation range for this position is $94500 to $175500 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
