Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) contract and hiring for an Information Systems Security Specialist II. This position supports US Navy Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems engineering, enterprise cybersecurity implementations and operations, advanced technology, and project management services. 

 

This is a full-time position with full benefits.  

 

Place of performance for this position is at one of these Government Sites: Washington DC Navy Yard, Charleston SC, San Diego CA, Norfolk VA or Jacksonville FL. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

 

Applying the US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to: 

  • Support development of an Operation Security plan 
  • Assess classified network and communications by providing expertise for US Navy Risk Management Framework, Information Security and Policy, Security Technical Implementation Guide scans, and certifications/audit requirements. 
  • Conduct security tests and evaluation (ST&E) for accreditation or re-accreditation as required 
  • Address vulnerabilities, maintain product security posture, and provide risk management across the entire US Navy RMF process. Supports security authorization activities in compliance with US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) and has the knowledge and ability to provide expertise during the sustainment phase of the RMF process to include maintaining conditions and stipulations of an Approval to Operate (ATO) letter, periodic vulnerability management, and periodic re-accreditations for multiple systems. 
  • Review existing documentation for IA compliance 
  • Responsible for supporting all aspects of a Program Information Assurance (IA) processes tailored to include minimum qualification standards, fundamental awareness and familiarity to demonstrated competency with specific experience in Cyber Security, Engineering, Test & Evaluation, (T&E) and/or Security Control Assessor (SCA) under a Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and/or Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process.  
  • Implement US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and/or include prior experience with the Defense Information Assurance & Certification Accreditation Process (DIACAP).  
  • Implement security policies & guidance documents to assist with the preparation and maintenance of process artifacts, traceability documents purposed for compliance with US Navy Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.  
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing up to classified information, and supervise and/or maintain the operational security posture for an information system or program.  
  • Assist or develop system security policy and ensure compliance of change management and configuration control processes.  
  • Plan and coordinate the IT security program and policies supporting the command leadership mission and goals. 

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • A minimum of 3 Years of practical experience in a Cybersecurity, Engineering, T&E or A&A (formerly C&A) related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years applied work experience working as an Information System Security Officer or Information Assurance Manager for US Navy systems 
  • Experience as an Information Assurance Manager in an Intelligence-related environment 
  • Experience implementing the full US Navy RMF process 
  • Experience implementing CDS solutions 
  • Cyber Security Engineering experience 
  • Proficient knowledge of Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) and the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) 
  • Knowledge of continuous monitoring and risk scoring (CMRS) 
  • Experience with the use of the DoD/DISA Vulnerability Management System (VMS)  

Degree: 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in a technical or managerial related discipline 

Certifications: 

  • IAT II Certification 

Security Clearance: 

  • Top Secret  

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Navy Qualified Validator 

Other Qualifications: 

  • U.S. Citizen

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $70000 to $150000 (annualized USD) dependent upon candidate qualifications and experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
