Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Software System Engineer that will assist in collaborating with system users, requirements owners, and developmental contractors to translate operational requirements into software requirements, designs, and implementations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing team in a 5-year task order with multiple opportunities for upward advancement supporting C&S. The C&S program delivers critical capabilities to counter current and future threats, enabling the next generation of warfighting capabilities from sensor to Soldier worldwide. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Participates in planning, coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling engineering and technical support activities applicable to software development and integration of software tools/capabilities onto a variety of execution platforms.
  • Participates in the development and execution of software and system test strategies.
  • Reviews and assesses developmental contractor software code to ensure compliance with government-provided coding and cybersecurity standards.
  • Participates in government oversight of contractor software development activities, to include as a supporting team member in agile development paradigm activities (e.g., scrums, sprint retrospectives), and generating recommendations to the government Assistant Product Manager regarding development, development planning, development/test automation tools, requirements prioritization, test, evaluation, cross-system integration, and fielding/delivery, and post-delivery support of software-based systems.
  • Provides integrated, multi-disciplinary solution recommendations for resolution of technical problems.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to generate and deliver focused briefings on complex topics to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) practices and tools
  • Familiarity with Application Programming Interfaces (API).

Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience with Software development or Systems Engineering of software-intensive systems
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with medical, defense, or law-enforcement related Information Technology.

Education

  • BS and/or graduate degree(s) in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.

 

Desired Requirements

 

  • Familiarity with the RMF process and security assessment technologies.
  • Ability to make recommendations for business process improvement.
  • Experience with Development-Security-Operation (DevSecOps).
  • Experience with Unix or Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience developing Web services software.

Other Qualifications

 

  • Ability to work in office/lab environment
  • Ability to travel 25%

The projected compensation range for this position is $86250 to $143750 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.�
