We are seeking to fill a ISSO on site role. As the Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you will be part of an important DoD program that has a direct impact on our nation's warfighter. Your expertise in your field will be utilized and respected.  Due to the classified nature of this work, this position is not eligible for remote or telework. This position will be based at NAS Fallon, NV. Fallon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    • Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
    • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
    • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
    • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access
    • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
    • Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:

  • 5 years of experience as ISSM or ISSO in a DoD environment
  • Experience in Information Assurance / Cybersecurity, including development, integration, and implementation of cybersecurity and program protection standards for networking, computers, and custom applications
  • Thorough knowledge of the Department of Defense 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, DoD Instruction 8500.1 Cybersecurity, DoD Directive 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management, NIST 800 Special Publications, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), and knowledge of current authorization practices, particularly within the DoD. 
  • Experience in creating and maintaining the security configuration baselines for Windows and Linux platforms, networking equipment, cloud technologies, and custom applications.
  • Must possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Manager Level II (i.e. CISSP, GSLC or CISM)

 

Desired Requirements

 

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:

  • 5 years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) DODI 8510.01 is desired.

 

Other Qualifications

 

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
