Position Summary

The Site Lead (SL) supports contracted OCONUS flight operations. The SL possess high standards of flight operations management or piloting skill, safety, professionalism, and customer focus. The selected SL will perform as either a Flight Operations Manager (FOM/SL) or Lead Pilot (MLP/SL).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary POC for site interaction with the Prime.
  • First line supervisor for assigned onsite.
  • Provide all information requested by the onsite prime representative and the customer.
  • Ensure corporate / local safety policies followed and enforced.
  • Ensure all newly assigned personnel are trained IAW standards directives.
  • Manage and monitor all aircrew crew endurance status to ensure FGOP compliance.
  • Ensure aircraft are operated in accordance with applicable regulations, OEM publications, applicable flight manual supplements, host nation policies and procedures, and program/corporate policies. All safety of flight documentation shall be completed and documented in accordance with applicable industry and FAA standards.
  • Pilot is responsible for pre-flight planning, aircraft pre-flight check, coordinating with Airborne Sensor Operators (ASO) and Mission Commanders who operate the on-board sensor systems and responsible for mission execution and operations.
  • Pilot will monitor airspace, weather, radio communications, mission flight boundaries, other air traffic, and aircraft systems.
  • Pilot will coordinate all flights with appropriate Fixed Base Operators, military range control, Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities (military and civilian), Primary Mission Equipment (PME) Operators, Mission Commanders, and Mission Coordination Services.
  • Pilot will operate modified Contractor Owned Contractor Operated turbo-prop aircraft in accordance with commercial and Host Nation regulations, and program policies and procedures. Will fly day and night, under VMC/IMC; maintain night and instrument proficiency.
  • Serve additional duties when directed as an Aviation Safety Pilot.
  • Operate from remote, austere and primitive locations with possible unimproved runways.
  • Pilot will place special emphasis on crew member safety and customer relations.
  • FOM will update personnel trackers and scheduling.
  • FOM supports MSO Lead with flight scheduling of aircraft and crew.
  • FOM attends base flight operations relevant meetings as required.
  • FOM creates and manage air crew flight records (Hard Copy and Digital Database).
  • FOM assists pilots with all flight crew currencies tracking, recurrent training, and any other documentation related to flight crew and flight operations.
  • FOM will screen all air crew applicants for technical compliance IAW the Projects FGOP, prior to deployment.
  • Coordinate with Site management on all scheduled aircraft phase maintenance; assist in unscheduled maintenance tracking and reporting.
  • Track flight hours of flight crew and aircraft; report as required.
  • Recommends removal from duty or re-assignment of flight and air crew personnel from OCONUS field site to Program Manager based on administrative or fitness-for-duty reasoning.
  • Coordinate with Program manager to ensure adequate number of air crews are on-site for mission coverage (rotation planning).
  • Schedule training for crew members with assistance from the Projects Program Coordinator (PC).
  • Provide oversight and management of routine operations.
  • Acts as liaison with Customer as required.

Requirements

Preferred Skills: (skills that are not necessary but will make a candidate more qualified for the position)

  • Former US military or government law enforcement pilot.
  • US military trained Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Pilot, or Instrument Examiner.
  • Prior FOM experience on USCENTCOM/USAFRICOM/USSOCOM programs.
  • Prior overseas rotation experience, particularly in USCENTCOM/USAFRICOM area of operations.
  • Experience supporting USSOCOM in global operations.
  • Experience using office products. 

Preferred Education / Certification / Experience: (education that is not necessary but will make a candidate more qualified for the position)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.

 Location:

  • OCONUS location.
  • Possibly austere and primitive location(s).

 Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance/TS preferred.

  Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Candidates hired for this position will be subject to a post offer, pre-hire, pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a valid passport with at least six months remaining prior to expiration.
